5 Disney Tips To Make Your Cruise Vacation More Enjoyable

A list of good Disney Tips is very important in planning for your Disney Cruise Line vacation.

We had no knowledge about cruising when we were planning our first Disney cruise.

My hopes are that at least one or all of these Disney tips helps you a little in making your family cruise vacation a success.

Now let's take a look at the 5 Disney cruise tips to make your cruise vacation more enjoyable.

1. Research Is The Key

The number one tip that I’d like to share with you is to research and learn as much as you can about the Disney Cruise Line. The more knowledge you have, the better your cruise will be.

I did this when we started planning our first Disney cruise vacation. I got online just like you are now and started searching all over trying to find out as much as I could about the Disney Cruise Line and come up with a game plan of sorts to go by when we took our cruise.

I researched and studied. I looked at pictures and watched videos. I did everything I could to learn more about DCL. By the time I was done I probably knew more about the Disney Cruise Line than most of the families that have been on multiple Disney cruises.

Even though I had never been on a Disney cruise, every time we got to a certain place or point on our trip I felt as if I had already been there and pretty much knew exactly what to do.

I would get excited and smile to myself because everything was just how it looked in the pictures and videos. I was familiar with it but when I got to view it in person it magnified the excitement ten fold.

The best place I found to get all the Disney tips you need to know about Disney Cruises and everything else Disney is PassPorter.com.

Jennifer and Dave Marx as well as the entire PassPorter.com team really have their act together and the Disney tips and knowledge that they deliver is top notch to say the least.

2. Look For The Best Deals

Don’t just book your Disney cruise right away and not do your research. There are many, many deals out there to be found.

One thing you could do to find some of the best deals is to book early. Sometimes you will get some good price breaks by booking early.

After you book it you need to keep checking back often to see if you can find a better rate and if so then just contact whoever you booked the cruise through and get you price adjusted.

Instead of booking early, you could try getting last minute Disney cruise deals if your schedule and lifestyle permits.

You can sometimes find a decent deal if you book a month or two before the cruise.

If you are willing to roll the dice and take a chance, you could consider booking a low-priced cabin and hope for an upgrade.

The Disney Cruise Line will sometimes upgrade those with low-priced staterooms to make room for more low-priced offers so that the can fill up the ship.

3. Pack Wisely For Your Cruise

Try not to pack everything but the kitchen sink for your Disney cruise vacation. It is not necessary.

We searched for extensive packing lists for our first cruise. We didn’t want to forget anything. We didn’t use half of the stuff that we took with us. Now we know better.

4. Get There Early

One of the best Disney Tips that people don’t think of is to get to the Disney cruise terminal as early as possible. The sooner you get to board your Disney cruise ship, the sooner you will start enjoying the amenities of the ship.

Also, if you arrive at the port early to check in, you will spend less time standing in lines waiting and more time enjoying the Disney cruise terminal environment.

Checking In At The Disney Port

We did this and it was a good call on our part. We got checked in, got our room keys and ID’s. We got our pictures taken with the Disney characters and there was hardly any wait time at all.

Once the crowds started to come in and the lines got long, we were already done with everything and just sat around and watched the excitement build.

5. Read The Disney Cruise
Line Personal Navigators

Every day in your stateroom, you will receive a personal navigator. This navigator is a newsletter-type document that outlines all of the activities that is happening on the ship (as well as shore excursions) for the next day.

The Disney Cruise Line personal navigators were priceless to my wife and I on this cruise. We sat down with the kids for a few minutes each night and mapped out a game plan for the next day so that we could all try to get in as much Disney fun and magic as possible.

I doubt you will ever be able to do everything that there is to do on a Disney cruise ship but it sure was a heck of a lot of fun trying.
