The Disney Wonder Cruise Ship Makes Magical Family Vacations Come To Life
The Disney Wonder is the sister ship to the Disney Magic but it is definitely not the “little sister”.
Both ships are built using the same specifications structurally.
It is 964 feet in length and is 106 feet at its widest point. For all of you cruise history buffs out there, just like the Disney Magic, the Wonder is 82 feet longer than the Titanic.

The Disney Wonder also has 11 decks and a whopping 83,000 gross tonnage. It can accommodate as many as 2,400 people for passengers and has a crew and cast of 950 to take care or entertain them.
The Disney Wonder Is All About Art Nouveau
Their interiors are what set these two cruise ships apart from each other. While the Disney Magic is decorated in art deco the Disney Wonder is decorated using an art nouveau design.
The inside is all about capturing the beauty and majesty of the ocean with wave-like patterns swirling about, accents of marble, along with some Venetian glass here and there to top off the art nouveau design.

You are even greeted by Ariel, depicted in a bronze statue, from the delightful film “The Little Mermaid”. This statue welcomes the guests into the ship's lobby area.
This same look and feel is carried throughout the ship to create a fun and cozy atmosphere.
Like the Disney Magic, the Disney Wonder is reminiscent of the ocean liners of old. Sculptures, woodwork, and paintings were also specially created for this ship too.
Disney has also placed some of the animated cels from its archives in the Wonder like the Magic has.
Food, Drinks, and Fun
There are several clubs and restaurants strung out all over deck 3 of the Disney Wonder.
You should visit the Cadillac Lounge while on board. It has plenty of portholes for viewing the ocean and is all decorated to fit the theme of the Cadillac too.
It is in the forward section of deck 3 in the Route 66 area. It is a piano bar and has live music every night. No one under 18 years old is allowed in this lounge though.
Also on deck 3 are the Promenade Lounge, WaveBands, and Diversions. These are all fantastic places to stop in and have a good time.

Deck 3 also has Parrot Cay. It is an island-styled buffet restaurant that serves lunch and breakfast.
I will say that the omelets where amazing and was, by far, my favorite breakfast food.
The kids just loved the smorgasbord layout and the different types of breakfast foods to choose from.
Triton’s is a fantastic restaurant that has an art nouveau feel and a “Little Mermaid” theme with, of course, Triton prominently displayed on the back wall.
On deck 4 is Animator’s Palate. This $4.3 million dollar phenomenon is a restaurant where the entire room changes color while you eat.

They also offer you a little show during your dining stay. Animator’s Palate is a must-see for anyone aboard the Disney Wonder.
There are also numerous snack spots all over the ship where you can get pizza, burgers, tacos, ice cream, etc.
Relax Or Go Crazy… There Is Always Something To Do
If you want to do some outdoor activities on deck, there is the "Wide World of Sports" area, which features volleyball and basketball courts. This is great for the whole family in fact.
Your kids, along with you, can play and have a grand time. This is a great way to get in some good exercise too.
But if you’re looking to be pampered, you may want to go to the Spa & Salon that is on deck 9 in the forward area instead. You can get either beauty or therapeutic treatments there. This place offers anywhere from pedicures to hairstyling to massages.

This is strictly for adults by the way, which is great for you because you can escape the kids for a little while! It is open from 8 in the morning until 8 at night all days unless the ship is in at a dock.
Let's not forget the three swimming pools either. The Mickey Pool for the younger kids, the Goofy Pool for the families, and Quiet Cove Pool for adults only.
All of these pools are located on deck 9 and you should check your Navigator for the specific times the pools are open. Your Navigator also fills you in on the daily events aboard the cruise ship.
Entertainment Aboard The Disney Wonder
There is plenty to do aboard the Disney Wonder. A favorite among many is the live Broadway style shows that Disney delivers to you as part of your cruise package.
You get a chance to see three shows during your cruise: The Golden Mickey’s, Toy Story: The Musical, and Disney Dreams - An Enchanted Classic. These are fantastic performances and I recommend that you catch them all.

There are so many things to do aboard the Disney Wonder that you simply won’t have enough time to fit it all in. We were going non-stop from the time we woke up until late into the evening and we still were not able to do everything that we wanted to do.
Just think about all the fun your family can have together if you plan right? You can even split up and the adults can enjoy the nightclubs while the kids are having fun in their areas.
