A Last Minute Disney Cruise May Be Just What The Doctor Ordered

A last minute Disney cruise is pretty much what it sounds like.

In a nutshell, you go to any travel agent or web site and book a cruise that is coming up shortly.

Usually up to three months in advance or less.

A quick tip I’m sure you are becoming increasingly aware of is that you can find some amazing deals from booking last minute Disney cruises.

Rear View Of The Disney Magic

This might require some quick planning and shuffling of the ol’ schedule, but if it means your kids will experience the magic of Disney and create memories that last a lifetime then it will be well worth it.

Disney cruises can be a bit more expensive than it’s competitors. But the good news is that you can usually find a good deal. Either way, it is well worth the effort.

Last Minute Disney Cruise Vs.
Booking In Advance

When it came to our very first Disney cruise vacation, booking a last minute Disney cruise never entered our minds. Not even for a second.

We were so excited about the idea of booking a Disney cruise that waiting was never an option. We booked that sucker as soon as we decided it was time to experience Disney at sea, which was about 7 months in advance.

This had its good points and its bad points.

The bad points were that we didn’t get the best pricing that we could have. We just wanted to get that confirmation number and get the ball rolling.

Also, the anticipation, although very exciting, was very torturous as well. Counting the days and waiting and waiting and waiting were driving us crazy and we just wanted it to get here.

The good points of booking in advance was that we had plenty of time to research and learn as much as we could about the Disney Cruise Line and it’s ships.

Also, we had plenty of time to get everything ready. We were also able to save a few extra bucks to take along with us as well since we had a few extra months to do so.

Just like the bad points, a good point was also that the anticipation of our first ever Disney cruise. The closer time got to embarkation day, the more excited and giddy everyone became. It was very exciting.

Jumbo Screen At The Goofy Pool

I guess no matter how you look at it, there is no right or wrong answer as long as you get the cruise booked. You may be able to save a few bucks if you found a last minute Disney cruise at a cheaper rate.

Planning Ahead Is The Key

The next Disney cruise we take I think I will be a little more cautious about booking.

Planning the trip ahead of time and then being more selective in which cruise offer you want to take may be a better deal.

A good idea is to figure out the month that you would like to go on a Disney cruise family vacation.

After you have figured out the month, you start your search for prices and make notes as to what the price ranges are.

After you get an idea of what it’s going to cost, you can start saving for the cruise. This also gives you a chance to get vacation requests from work and school handled if necessary.

Normally, the closer it gets to the month you want to go on the cruise the cheaper the prices should start getting. You could even take a chance and wait until the week before and see what kind of last minute Disney cruise deal you can get.

When you get your cruise booked you can use the money that you saved for other things on the trip or simply keep it in your bank account.

There should be no problems with rushing and last minute preparations because all of the preparations were done ahead of time in anticipation of the Disney cruise.

You do, however, run the risk of not getting the exact cruise you want if you wait for a last minute Disney cruise deal if the cruise has already been fully booked.

That isn’t always the case but it does happen. If a travel agent or travel site says the Disney cruise you want is booked then try a different source.

Some travel agents and travel sites book blocks of rooms in advance and if they have any left over and are running out of time, they will let them go for a cheap price.

Either way, booking a last minute Disney cruise or booking in advance, you are sure to have one of the most magical times of your lives.
